Occupational Therapy Day 2025: Raise Awareness, PromOTe Change
The Occupational Therapy Day 2025 celebration held on 9 January at Kampung, Level 2, Tower B, brought energy and inspiration to our campus. Organised by a dedicated team of six occupational therapists (OTs) and supported by four dedicated volunteers, the event centred around this year's theme of "PromOTe Change." 💪
The aim was twofold: to encourage staff to adopt healthier lifestyle habits and to deepen their understanding of the vital role occupational therapists play in fostering holistic well-being.

The event featured five thoughtfully designed interactive booths, each tailored to address specific aspects of health and occupational therapy:
Quick Screen for Repetitive Strain Injuries ([RSIs]
Staff could undergo quick screenings for conditions like trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome, with guidance on managing these issues in their daily lives.
Fall Prevention)
This booth highlighted potential fall risks in home environments and educated staff on preventive measures. It also served to showcase the essential role of occupational therapists in ensuring safety.
Ergonomics at Work
Both clinical and non-clinical staff learned about maintaining good ergonomics at work to prevent injuries and enhance comfort and productivity.
Kahoot Quiz
This interactive quiz tested staff knowledge about the role of occupational therapists, blending fun with learning.
Healthy Lifestyle
Staff were encouraged to explore simple, practical ways to incorporate healthy habits into their routines.
The event saw an impressive turnout of 150 staff members from diverse departments—including nursing, therapy, IT, and administrative teams—joining in the activities. Staff offered overwhelmingly positive feedback, sharing that they gained valuable insights into occupational therapy's impact while feeling motivated to take ownership of their personal health and well-being.
To encourage full participation, attractive prizes were up for grabs. Staff who completed all five booths could choose between a gift set (featuring a mini fan and tumbler) or a $5 NTUC voucher. The Health Promoting Hospital Committee also sponsored fruit cups and hot beverages, ensuring everyone stayed refreshed and energised.
This year’s event stood out for its focus on celebrating in-house talent. While many Occupational Therapy Day initiatives traditionally prioritise public outreach, this celebration provided an opportunity to honour the dedication and contributions of our OTs. It also fostered a stronger sense of community by bringing together colleagues from various job families in a shared space of learning and connection.
