Ushering in the Year of the Snake
with Joy and Prosperity
The festive spirit was in full swing at JurongHealth Campus as staff came together on 4 February 2025 to celebrate the Lunar New Year at Tower B, Kampung area. Organised by the JHC Employee Engagement Team, the event was a heartwarming gathering filled with well-wishes, cultural traditions, and delightful treats.
The festivities began with a warm address by CEO A/Prof Dan Yock Young, setting a joyful and optimistic tone for the celebration. A symbolic calligraphy session followed, where leaders came together to craft an auspicious Lunar New Year greeting:
🖌️ CEO A/Prof Dan Yock Young wrote Gong (恭) and Xi (喜)
🖌️ CMB A/Prof Low Shiong Wen added Fa (發)
🖌️ MD, JCH Adj Asst Prof Kelvin Koh completed the phrase with Cai (財)
Together, these characters formed the well-known phrase 恭喜發財 (Gong Xi Fa Cai), meaning "Wishing you happiness and prosperity."

Adding to the joyful atmosphere, staff had the opportunity to participate in a Lohei session 🥢alongside Senior Leaders, tossing the colourful ingredients high while calling out wishes for prosperity and success in the year ahead.
For those interested in embracing tradition, there was a Chinese calligraphy station, where staff could either try their hand at writing auspicious phrases or have a shifu craft a meaningful message for them.

No Lunar New Year celebration would be complete without festive treats. Staff received NUHS red packets 🧧🧧, a pair of mandarin oranges 🍊🍊—symbols of good luck—and a delicious Orange Crumble Muffin, adding a sweet touch to the occasion.
Here’s to a prosperous and fulfilling Year of the Snake for all at JHC! 🐍✨
