A Fresh Smile: NUCOHS Expands Dental Care at NTFGH!
Something exciting is happening at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH)! Our commitment to making healthcare more accessible, seamless, and patient-centric just got stronger with the launch of the A63 NUCOHS Dental Clinic @ NTFGH—the second satellite dental clinic by the National University Centre for Oral Health (NUCOHS).
This new clinic, officially launched on 19 March, brings specialist dental care closer to our community in the west, making it easier for patients to access quality and affordable oral healthcare without traveling far. It also helps ease the load on existing dental facilities, ensuring faster and smoother care for those who need it.
The launch was officiated by Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Minister of State (MOS), Ministry of Digital Development and Information & Ministry of Health, together with key healthcare leaders, including:
🦷 A/Prof Chng Chai Kiat, Chief Dental Officer, MOH
🦷 Dr Wendy Wang, Executive Director, NUCOHS
🦷 A/Prof Dan Yock Young, CEO, NTFGH & JCH

In her speech, MOS Rahayu highlighted the importance of integrating dental services within hospitals to ensure seamless and holistic patient care. She emphasised that initiatives like these play a crucial role in improving accessibility to subsidised oral healthcare. This approach also ensures that oral health is no longer an afterthought but an integral part of overall healthcare.
Dr Wendy Wang reaffirmed NUCOHS’ commitment to delivering patient-centric and high-quality dental services. She noted that this clinic would provide greater convenience for patients requiring specialist dental treatments while helping to ease the load on existing healthcare facilities.
Dr Wendy Wang reaffirmed NUCOHS' commitment to patient-centric, high-quality dental services, while A/Prof Dan Yock Young highlighted NTFGH’s collaborative efforts to make essential healthcare services more accessible for the community.

Mr Yeo Chin Huat, 68, has been wearing dentures for 15 years and recently switched from a private hospital to Jurong Polyclinic to reduce his oral healthcare costs. Initially facing a six-month wait for his dental appointment at NUCOHS, he was later offered an earlier slot at the NUCOHS Dental Clinic @ NTFGH, reducing his waiting time by three months.
The launch event was more than just speeches—attendees got an exclusive first look at the new clinic through a guided tour led by Dr Henry Ho, Head and Senior Consultant, Dentistry, NTFGH. Attendees also had fun at the NUCOHS exhibition and photo booth, capturing the moment with big smiles (and hopefully no cavities!).
This isn’t just another clinic opening—it is a reflection of our continuous efforts to bring better, more accessible, and integrated care to the people we serve. Whether you are a staff member, patient, or part of our healthcare family, this is a win for all of us.
So, next time you are around, drop by and check out the new NUCOHS Dental Clinic @ NTFGH—because a healthy smile is always worth celebrating!
