Wrapping Up A Year of Progress
As we conclude the final JHC LIVE session of 2024 on 12 November, we celebrate a year defined by resilience, growth, and collective achievement. From celebrating individual excellence to overcoming shared challenges, 2024 has been a journey of transformation and achievements for JurongHealth Campus—proof of what we can achieve when we move forward together.
The session was a milestone moment, as Clinical A/Prof Low Shiong Wen presented in his new role as Chairman, Medical Board (CMB). He celebrated the outstanding achievements of our colleagues,
showcasing the collective dedication and excellence that drive our campus.
• Clinical A/Prof Gerald Chua, Senior Consultant, Respiratory Medicine, awarded the National Outstanding Clinician Educator Award 2024 at the annual National Medical Excellence Awards.
• Dr Elaine Capili Jumalon, Resident Physician, Post-Acute & Continuing Care, honoured with the Community Care Excellence Awards 2024.
• A/Prof Adrian Yap, Director, Research, and A/Prof Yap Keng Bee, Senior Consultant, Geriatric Medicine, recognised among the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide.
CMB shared updates on transformative advancements in our Acute Medical Unit, Operating Theatres, and the NTFGH Hospital Clinician Scheme. He concluded by emphasising the critical role of leveraging the National Electronic Health Record (NEHR) responsibly to ensure patient data security.
Phyllis Ng, Assistant Director of Patient Experience, presented the findings of the MOH Patient Experience Survey (PES) 2023. She highlighted areas for improvement and outlined JHC’s Priority Patient Experience Projects, including efforts to reduce Emergency Department wait times and streamline clinic operations.
The session also reminded us of the value of patient feedback, with heartfelt compliments inspiring us to deepen meaningful connections.
A/Prof Dan Yock Young, CEO, NTFGH and JCH, celebrated JHC’s athletes for their stellar performance, bringing home gold from the NUHS Games Day.
He reinforced JHC’s unwavering stance on zero tolerance for abuse and harassment, emphasising a commitment to a safe and respectful workplace for all.
CEO also presented the Employee Engagement Survey (EES) 2024 results, highlighting a 6% increase in the Sustainable Engagement Index since 2022. Moving forward, the leadership team will co-create an action plan with staff, focusing on Culture & Pride, Empowerment & Accountability, and Wellbeing to enhance the workplace experience further.
During the closing segment, CEO, CMB, MD, JCH Adj Asst Prof Kelvin Koh, and CHRO Ms Christina Loh responded to staff questions on topics such as staff benefits and strategies to improve the workplace. These discussions underscored the leadership’s dedication to transparency and continuous improvement.
As 2024 draws to a close, we celebrate our achievements while embracing the opportunities for growth and improvement.
The first JHC LIVE session of 2025, coming this February, promises fresh perspectives, renewed energy, and a collective focus on strengthening our supportive campus community.
